Spaghetti alla Pizzaiola from Campania is a quick pasta recipe typical of Naples with tomato and spices reminiscing of pizza but without mozzarella and grated cheese.
Ingredients for 4 people:
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic chopped
- 8 San Marzano tomatoes pulp in purée
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- salt and pepper
- 4 beef cutlets
IIn a large pan on low heat put oil and garlic. Flavor for a few seconds, then add tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano and a little water if necessary.
Add beef cutlets to sauce and cook for about 15 minutes at low heat.
Take out meat from the pan and pour cooked and drained pasta into sauce. Mix well to flavor. Turn heat off and serve.
Cutlets are served as second course.
Note: cutlets sliced thin and flattened if necessary. No cheese with this dish.
